What is Product Discovery?
The practice of Product Discovery has been widely democratized in recent years. An essential step in developing a product and its success, Product Discovery is an exploratory process that involves identifying and validating customer needs and the best solutions to meet those needs. Product Discovery ensures that the products being built address real problems and generate a positive impact for the user and the organizations building these products.
Although widespread among product teams, Product Discovery encompasses heterogeneous practices. There are numerous difficulties encountered in setting up the proper organization and delivering the expected impact. Its importance still needs to be perceived by all stakeholders, especially in larger companies. One of the current challenges is to continue the democratization of Product Discovery and to convince the majority of its importance, especially management teams who still do not perceive its usefulness and tend to prioritize Product Delivery.
We partnered up with Screeb and Thiga to survey over 500 product professionals to get an overview of today’s Product Discovery practices and challenges, intending to help the product community move forward on these topics.
